Dietary Manager-Springfield, IL
Arena Food Service, Inc., a privately owned and fast growing food service management company, is currently seeking an experienced Dietary Manager at a rehab facility in Springfield, IL. The successful candidate will provide management for the Dietary Department, ensuring quality food and operational stability. The Dietary Manager will direct and assist the preparation and serving of regular meals, order food and supplies and maintain area and equipment in sanitary condition, hiring personnel and assure the smooth operation with other facility departments.
Preference will be given to candidates holding a Certified Dietary Manager certificate. Chosen candidate, if not holding such a certificate will be required to enroll in an approved CDM program within 4 months of employment. Arena will reimburse the employee for the certification upon successful completion.
This position also:
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Must be in good mental and physical condition.
• Must possess leadership qualities and be able to supervise and secure the cooperation of the dietary personnel.
• Must have knowledge of dietetic principles, food sanitation, and food service operation.
• Must be able to work productively with other department heads and personnel, and the dietary consultants.
• Must enjoy working with geriatric residents.
• Usually works forty (40) + hours per week. Hours will be dictated by the needs of the facility, will vary and may include weekends and holidays.
*Must be proficient in Microsoft Products, various nutritional and menu software programs and be proficient in basic computer operation.
A successful candidate will have the physical stamina to stand and walk intermittently through out the working day, as well as reach, stoop, bend, lift, carry, and manipulate various food products, dietary supplies and equipment. Our Dietary Manager must have the ability to work with chemicals/cleaning agents and must be able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds.
All members of our management team must have a valid drivers license and be able to pass a thorough background check. This facility will require all employees to be able to pass the Illinois Health Care Workers Registry background check.
Salary and compensation will be dependent on experience but include competitive wage, health insurance, vacation time and retirement contribution.
