Arena Food Service, Inc., a privately owned and fast growing food service management company, is currently seeking an experienced Dining Services Manager for a managed retirement facility in Springfield, IL. The successful candidate will provide management for the Culinary Department, ensuring quality food and service as well as operational stability. The Dining Services Manager will direct and assist the preparation and serving of regular meals, order food and supplies and maintain area and equipment in sanitary condition, hiring personnel and assure the smooth operation with other facility departments.

Minimum Requirements for this Position
- Minimum 5 years of progressive supervisory experience within food service operations.
- Demonstrate ability to relate well with individuals representing a wide range of backgrounds, education and skills.
- Demonstrate professionalism and successful interactions with client relations and customer service, particularly in an eldercare environment.
- Degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality related field preferred.
- Current Certified Dietary Manager certificate or commitment to obtaining such certificate starting within 3 months of employment.
- Must possess leadership qualities and be able to supervise and secure the cooperation of culinary and service personnel.
- Must have knowledge of dietetic principles, food sanitation, and food service operation.
- Must be able to work productively with other department heads and personnel.
- Must enjoy working with elderly clients.
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
- Must be in good mental and physical condition.
- Proficient in use of technology to provide efficient business management and work flow. Basic proficiency in Microsoft products and various cloud based application.
- Must have a valid Illinois Drivers License and be able to pass a thorough background check.
- Usually works forty (40) + hours per week. Hours will be dictated by the needs of the facility, will vary and may include weekends and holidays.
Additional Responsibilities for this Position Include:
- Direct and supervise a wide range of employees including both Front of House and Back of House staff.
- Direct and maintain proper sanitation and production standards.
- Ensure quality of finished products in a consistent and meaningful manner.
- Plan and implement daily culinary operations.
- Oversee and maintain high-class catering standards within the facility as needed.
- Develop service menus within nutritional and financial parameters while integrating market trends, local needs and efficient production.
- Recruit, select and train all staff.
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement in both product and service.
- Develop a cohesive, customer service driven team of professionals dedicated to the proper care and satisfaction of the client.
- Control revenue and expenses to meet financial goals.
